Born October 1952 in Victoria BC, Canada, I have been a freelance nature
photographer since 1980, specializing in avian, wildlife & nature photography. My passion for birds & nature started at a very
early age and was kickstarted by my Mom, who had a great love for nature and
birds. However, it wasn't until my kayaking, canoeing & camping excursions
that I felt the need to capture these experiences on film. I have pursued bird photography across the continent, but now tend to focus more on
Vancouver Island. Many images have been published in books, magazines, birding
guides, nature and conservation publications. An early Steller's Jay photo was chosen from thousands of entries to
be used as the representation image for the provincial bird on the BC Bird
